Dear members
A very warm welcome to the new sailing season, and the programme for
2012. As always, we want to encourage participation, fair competition and good fun on the water. We have had excellent feedback from
our racing members and have built this into the new programme.
The key changes are:
In line with arrangements at many other clubs, this year we are trialling the use of a Race Declaration Form. The form will be used to collect race information and confirm the membership status of all participating sailors. There will be a small fee of 5 EUR (or £5) for visitors wishing to race on members' boats, and a campaign to encourage interested non-sailors to come along and try crewing.
The first visit is free, and the limit of six races as a visitor has not been changed. If a visitor decides to become a member, they will be entitled to a 50% discount in the first year, and any race levies will also be deducted from their first year subscription.
Race Declaration Forms must be submitted to the Sailing Office in the Clubhouse after racing along with any fees due, and new forms are available on-line and in the clubhouse.
IRC Class 1 will start first and the starting time for Class 1 will be the warning signal for Club Class 2. If the OD advises that all fleets start together then steps 1-4 only will apply.
